Barkitecture was October 20th at the 2nd street district and IF+D is proud to announce it was a resounding success! The doghouses looked wonderful! The dogs looked happy! Thank you to all the dog owners and wanna-be dog owners who made the day such a success! For those we were not able to make it, here are some photo highlights!

We had our very own dog portrait painter for the day, Doug Weber. He did an amazing job painting a pooch portrait right in front of our very eyes that day! Please visit his website at dougweberarts.com or talk to me or Kristen to get more information on your own pup being immortalized! As I mentioned, the dog houses were amazing! They ranged from the Austin rustic:

To the simple and elegant:

To the posh:

To the humorous and clever:

To the fun and trendy:

To the whimsical:
To the exotic:
To the luxurious:

Even to the sleek and modern! (this one was in front of IF+D and we loved it. Well, okay we loved them all. And look at that wonderful crowd!)

And let's not forget about the most important part of the day, the dogs!

Again, thank you to everyone who participated!

p.s. sorry for such a late post today, as any blogger will tell you, existing in the online world means being at the internet's mercy. It was unmerciful to me today.

I was there for Barkitecture on Saturday and you are right, there were some great dog houses! I just enjoyed seeing all the interesting ideas the architects came up with. Austin should do this more often, it was fun.
Hey guys. Sorry I couldn't make it to Barkitecture; I had to go cheer for the Kentucky Wildcats (unfortunately it didn't help). It looks like I missed out on a lot of fun, so thanks for posting the pics!
Melanie, it was my pleasure posting pics for you and others who missed out on Saturday, although, as an LSU Tiger I'm afraid I must disapprove of your absence lol. It was a lot of fun, but I'm sure it will be bigger and better next year!
